TTUMC Youth's DCLA Blog

The youth of TTUMC are heading off to Washington, D.C. to take part in DCLA 2006!!! While we're there, we will experience intimate worship, relevant training, and interaction with thousands of other students that will lead to life-changing impact. DCLA is about learning wherever we are, through every experience and in every learning style to help people encounter the Gospel through three stories: God's Story, My Story and Their Story.

To learn more about DCLA, take a look at their website.

Welcome to our DCLA blog!

Hi everybody! Thanks for visiting our website. Please check back as often as possible between June 30th and July 6th since that's when we will be posting as much as we can about what we're experiencing in D.C. Please leave us comments! We like to hear from you just as much as you do from us! Just click on the "# comments" link at the bottom of each post and type away!

Also, please keep each of us in your prayers while we're away (for a list of everyone who is going, along with their pictures, see the events page). We're hoping that we will have a lot of fun on this trip but we also want to receive what God wants for us to learn and take it back home with us to share with everybody else.

We're very excited about everything that is going to happen on this trip and can't wait to tell everyone about it so check back on this site often and leave us comments! :-) Meanwhile, you can leave your well wishes before we leave as comments to this blog. Thank you so much for your support!!!

Love,
The TTUMC Youth Group

Wooooooooo Youth!!!!!
I just wanted to say how curageous the youth and especially Erica, Mike and Amy are! I'm sure Mike, a.k.a. Blogger Extrodinaire, will blog all about it before the day is up, but I can't wait that long :) The youth's train got cancelled due to all the rain and flooding and within an hour or so Erica and Mike had a whole new itinerary figured out!! Last I heard the church van and everyone riding in it was in North Carolina and everything is going according to "plan."
Make extra sure to pray over this trip. It's clear God has his hands all over it and is taking care of everyone. He is one step ahead of them, but let's continue to pray for safe travels and a wonderful experience!

Hi Guys!
So happy to hear you are there and enjoying yourself...taking in some of the sites!

We have been praying for you, especially when the evening news shows all the storm activity up there.

Now that you are safely there I pray you just "drink it in" I pray you open yourselves up to the Lord and let Him teach you everything He has for you. And that you will all come back ready to serve and be used.

We love you and care for you. Be blessed!

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE you must be having! I just finished reading ALL the blogs...and I've taken on the joy, the excitement, and a bit of the tiredness. So neat to be meeting new people and realizing that youth all over are talking and living a Christ-centered life. Shields and I pray that you will grow even closer to knowing that God loves and cares for you more than you can possibly imagine!
And that you can see God in many more ways than you had ever thought. We pray God will reach you in just the way you most need!

We are praying for a Spirit-filled, fun-filled, joy-filled time in D.C. We'll be thinking of you as we watch the D.C. fireworks Tuesday night.

Love from Shields and Martha

Hey Erica,Mike,Amy and all you great kids.Sorry to be so long in chiming in.....you have all been in our prayers and it's great to see that nothing can interfere with what God has planned-
Stay open to what you're seeing and hearing-you are the guys who will be lighting up our church and the Temple Terrace area for God.
I wish I could be hearing David Crowder and all.
Enjoy you last couple of days-the fireworks should be awesome.
We are all praying for your experiences and your journey home.
In His Love,Don
