TTUMC New Stephen Leaders Commissioned

Pastor St. Clair, along with Stephen Leader Consultant, Lois Mazur, led the Commissioning service of our new Stephen Leaders on February 7. 2010. “Will you nurture the skills you have learned and use them in service to others – to support, encourage, build up, and heal people in all their needs?” asked Pastor St. Clair as he addressed our Stephen Leaders. The response was a resounding “I will, and I will ask God to help me.” So set the tone of the path that will be followed by our new Stephen Leaders, Andy Arace, Shields Clark, Yvette Moore and Cindy Ross, who were commissioned, along with Stephen Leader Consultant, Lois Mazur.

Vows were exchanged where Pastor St. Clair affirmed his support of this ministry, the congregation echoed the sentiments of support and our Stephen Leaders were commissioned to train and equip Stephen Ministers in this ministry of lay care giving.

Please continue to pray for this ministry as we proceed with the next phase of the Stephen Ministry series, training selected candidates to be Stephen Ministers in the training class commencing on February 21, 2010.

Stephen Ministers are members of Temple Terrace UMC who go through 50 hours of care-giving training and then work alongside our pastor in providing emotional and spiritual support to people who are going through a difficult time, such as divorce, grief, hospitalization, unemployment, terminal illness, relocation, chronic illness, or loneliness. We'll be training a new class of Stephen Ministers on February 21, 2010.
