Well Attended Session Held for Stephen Ministry InfoAwareness
As part of the recruiting phase of the Stephen Ministry series, our Stephen Leaders team held an InfoAwareness session to further educate and answer questions about Stephen Ministry. Effective Christian care giving through specially trained individuals was the underlying theme of the session held on Sunday, January 31st by the Stephen Leaders team.
One participant shared her perspective on the session as follows: “The information was comprehensive….it clarified a lot for me, gave me a lot to think about so I can be sure this is the right thing for me. I am impressed with the people who are in the leadership role and who will be doing the teaching. I feel that the leaders will do a good job which is critical for its success. This is an important ministry for our church to have and I am anxious to go through the interview process. I did recognize through this session that it is not really our role to fix anything as you care for someone. This could be a challenge for me as I am always a fixer…...whether they want me to fix it or not.”
Our Stephen Leader team hosted the session where they all presented and provided refreshments for the twenty-one interested participants. The team is actively planning as we continue working through the recruiting phase of the series - the application and interview processes are underway. Applications are being received through February 7th. Interviews will continue throughout the week of February 7 and the selected Stephen Ministers will be notified by February 14th.
Right now we are praying for the individuals God is calling to serve as caregivers. Pray with us as we work to build a Stephen Ministers’ team that will love and care for others in His name.
