Discipleship Classes Overview
We Are All Seekers
We are all seekers in one way or another.
The term has been used to indicate those who are new to the church and are beginning to discover what the Christian faith is about, but it’s a term that we must all apply to ourselves if we are to grow.
If we are to grow, we must all see ourselves as seekers along a journey.
When we accept that our understanding of the Christian faith is ever growing and becoming, we put ourselves in the places where growth can happen. How sad it would be to leave this earth never fully having discovered the living Lord and all that is available to us, simply because we stopped seeking too soon.
Discipleship conveys that same idea — that we are all on a spiritual journey and maturing in the faith.
The selection of Discipleship classes at Temple Terrace United Methodist Church has been designed to offer something to people at each stage of the spiritual journey. Whether you are taking your first step on the journey toward Jesus or have been on that journey growing closer to Him for years, there is a class offering that will help you as you continue to seek Him.
We invite you along as, together, we seek, learn, grow as Disciples of Christ. Register for a Discipleship Class this term.
What are Discipleship classes?
Discipleship Classes are short-term learning opportunities and growth experiences to help us live the Christ-centered life and continue our spiritual journeys. As Billy Graham said, “Becoming a Christian is the work of a moment. Being a Christian is the work of a lifetime.” Discipleship Classes help us with that on-going “work of a lifetime” by teaching us about the Christian faith and helping us apply principles of that faith to our daily life.
How much does it cost?
The only cost is for study materials in some classes, as noted in the course description.
When are classes?
Discipleship Classes will be offered on Wednesdays beginning January 27th. Most classes take place from 6:45 until 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday evenings. In addition, an afternoon class is offered at 4:00 p.m. There will be no classes on Ash Wednesday (Feb. 17) or during Holy Week (March 31st).
In addition, Sunday School classes are on-going at various times on Sunday mornings. Information on Sunday School is available at the Connection Center.
